Indigo Urgent Care expands COVID-19 testing

Wondering if you can get tested for COVID-19? Not sure where to go?

As Washington businesses reopen and more people venture outside their homes, MultiCare Indigo Urgent Care has expanded its testing services to help limit the spread of COVID-19 in local communities. Here’s the latest guidance on who can be tested and where you need to go.

Where can I get a COVID-19 test?

The answer depends on your individual circumstance. Here are some common scenarios:

If you have COVID-19 symptoms

If you are experiencing any symptom of COVID-19, you can get tested at an Indigo Urgent Care clinic. Symptoms include cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills/repeated shaking with chills, new muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.

Please schedule an appointment at a location convenient to you. You will see one of our  medical providers. We will bill your insurance for the visit and lab. If you do not have insurance, the cost is $175 for the provider visit. In addition, you will receive a bill from the lab for the test.

If you’ve been exposed to COVID-19 but have NO symptoms

If you are not showing any symptoms of COVID-19, but you've either been exposed to someone with COVID-19 or had possible exposure, you can see an Indigo medical provider.

Examples of exposure include being in a large crowd, having less than 6 feet of physical distancing or exposure for more than 15 minutes, or not wearing a mask.

Please schedule an appointment at a nearby Indigo clinic. We will likely test you, unless your exposure falls outside of the Centers for Disease Control guidelines, which say exposure should have occurred 5-14 days earlier.

If you have no symptoms or exposure but you’re traveling and need a COVID test.

Or if you’ve been told you need a COVID test for work, to visit elderly parents or to participate in sports.

You will need to schedule a video visit with a MultiCare medical provider. The fee is $99 and is not covered by insurance. There will be an additional fee from the lab.

Why does insurance not cover this type of visit? It’s similar to situations such as when you travel to some foreign countries, where a pre-travel physical or vaccinations may be required, but you pay out-of-pocket for these services.

The $99 COVID-19 test fee includes:

  • video visit with a MultiCare provider.
  • Pre-test counseling and information about potential test results.
  • A lab order for testing at the Indigo Urgent Care closest to you.
  • A quick test-only visit. You’ll be in and out in minutes.

We're here for you!

All Indigos offer convenient same-day and weekend appointments. As the COVID situation continues to evolve, so do the available testing options.
