Andrea Gamboa is bringing care home to the Tri-Cities

Indigo Urgent Care is preparing to open its first Tri-Cities locations, and for Andrea Gamboa – it’s personal. A Kennewick native and Pasco High graduate, Indigo’s new Tri-Cities Area Manager recently returned to the region and will oversee the launch of two clinics designed to deliver friendly, community-focused care to her hometown.

MultiCare Indigo Urgent Care – Richland is scheduled to open in November 2025, with a Kennewick location following in early 2026.

Tailored for the community

Gamboa is not only deeply connected to the Tri-Cities, she’s also dedicated to filling a much-needed gap in urgent care services for its residents.

“The Tri-Cities is a melting pot of people from different backgrounds, and I’m excited to help introduce a model of urgent care that tailors the patient experience to each person,” she said. “So many people I’ve talked with have said the same thing – we really need this.”

That focus on the individual is exactly what drew Gamboa to Indigo.

“At Indigo, everything I’ve personally experienced and read in reviews shows that patients leave feeling cared for, heard and satisfied,” she said. “That really sets Indigo apart.”

A career rooted in service

Gamboa’s commitment to her community is matched by a career built on service and leadership. She began her journey in home health care, where she gained an early understanding of how to support patients effectively and train staff to deliver quality care.

Certified as both a medical assistant and an EMT, Gamboa expanded her skills further by joining the U.S. Air Force in 2020 as a medic. There, she trained to the scope of an LPN and developed a passion for fast-paced, high-stakes care. After a year of active duty, she transitioned to private practice management in Arizona, first at a small clinic and later in a large ophthalmology practice.

“That range of experience taught me how different care settings operate and what good patient care really looks like,” she said. “It’s one of the reasons I love the go-go-go aspect of urgent care. My background in trauma and triage from the Air Force gave me a strong foundation, and Indigo takes it to the next level with its focus on making every patient feel cared for.”

Life beyond the clinic

Outside of work, Gamboa enjoys spending time with her large extended family, her fiancé Michael, and her many nieces and nephews. In summer, she can often be found on the Columbia River boating or kayaking. She also continues to serve in the Air Force Reserves, traveling to Arizona once a month for training in trauma and triage care.

Gamboa’s strong ties to family, community, and service mirror the values she brings to her role at Indigo. Looking ahead, she’s eager to see the new clinics come to life.

“Opening day is what I’m most looking forward to,” she said. “We have the chance to create something special for the Tri-Cities – something that makes people leave an urgent care visit feeling better than when they walked in. That’s what Indigo is all about.”
